DESTINATION INFORMATION
ST KITTS (officially known as St Christopher) lies in the northern part of the Leeward Islands in the eastern Caribbean. To the southeast of the island, a low-lying peninsula (on which there are many excellent beaches) stretches towards Nevis.
It was in St Kitts that Nelson met and married his wife Fanny Nisbet ~ check out his memorabilia at the Horatio Nelson Museum just outside pretty, bougainvillaea-filled Charlestown. Take a wander around this historic town - it's one of the best preserved in the Caribbean.
Some 3km (2 miles) to the south and only minutes away by air or ferry across The Narrows channel is the smaller island of NEVIS, which is almost circular in shape. Reached from St Kitts by ferry, the island is skirted by miles of silver-sand beaches, golden coconut groves and a calm, turquoise sea in which great brown pelicans dive for the rich harvest of fish. The central peak of the island, Nevis Peak, is 985m (3,232ft) high and its tip is usually capped with white clouds. (Note: Nevis is not displayed on our map.)
Nevis has become one of the world's most exclusive resorts and spas. Most of the original plantation owners lived on the island and it became renowned as a centre of elegant and gracious living. Although Nevis has lived through an earthquake and a tidal wave, which is claimed to have buried the former capital, the island is still dotted, as is St Kitts, with fascinating old buildings and historic sites.

FIXTURES
St Kitts and Nevis are sister islands just twenty minutes flight away from Antigua. In spite of their proximity, there are distinct differences between the two islands with each strongly maintaining its own identity, giving rise to fierce internal rivalry, especially on the cricket pitch!
St Kitts combines green grass with rainforest. Some of its beaches have dark sand caused by the extinct volcano, Mount Liamuiga. Life on Nevis is slow, with long stretches of golden sandy beaches cooled by the tradewinds. Travel between the islands is by ferry.
Probably because of their size, St Kitts and Nevis don't get many tours. This is a great benefit to those who do go there as the welcome will never be forgotten. Because if this, it is possible for cricketers to get a two-day match if they chose their dates correctly.
Due to the small population on both islands, you must accept and appreciate that in order to get local teams to be as competitive as possible, they will be mixed ages. As with all our tours, we encourage tour managers to make contact with their opposition in advance of every fixture so that communication with assist in the setting up of good games.
Both islands are very traditional in maintaining many of the Great Houses on the old sugar and cotton plantations. Many of these have been converted into beautiful hotels which are ideal for parent supporters.
Our fixtures on St Kitts are handled by Noel Calvin Guishard and Keeth Arthurton, MBE, both of whom work with Richie Richardson, Captain of the West Indies cricket team from 1992-1996. Noel Calvin Guishard first represented St Kitts in 1979 and played and coached for many years, and has been the cricket co-ordinator in the Minstry for Tourism, Sports and Cultures for the past 18 years. Keeth Arthurton MBE, played first-class cricket for over 15 years, including representing the West Indies for a decade, and runs the Cricket Academy, as well as being Richie's youth cricket co-ordinator.
